Hello My Name Is...

Andrew Shaw

Andy Shaw

My name is Andy Shaw. I was born and raised in North Conway. I attended Kennett High School and graduated in 1995.

After high school, I went on to build a career building and racing stock cars. I have raced all over the eastern part of our country and Canada. I am a five-time PASS Modified Champion with over 30 wins in that series alone. From the time I graduated until 2012 I spent my days building and fabricating race cars and running family businesses.

Then one day, I was dropping off my youngest daughter at Little Eagles Preschool at Kennett High School, my dear friend and teacher Linda King approached me and asked if I would talk to the director about some problems in the machine shop. So, after a tour and lengthy discussion, I decided to help out for a few months to keep the program I participated in going. Since that day I have never looked back and teaching is now my career.

I am happily married to my wife Sue and I have two daughters of my own and one step-daughter. I have enjoyed coaching all of them in basketball, softball, and soccer.  I spend my time running and mountain biking with my wife. As a family we enjoy spending days by the water and traveling to new destinations.

As a teacher I have been blessed. My class is in its seventh year participating in NASA/HUNCH. Since then, we have built flight hardware for the International Space Station. Each of the classes have gotten certified to manufacture flight hardware and also certified in quality control from NASA. Each year we are presented with new challenges and the students have continually come through to complete the projects assigned. Last year we were recognized by the founder of HUNCH as one of the top manufacturing schools in the country.
